When you are at a game, the experience is much better. You get to clap for the guys and cheer for them as loud as you want(without looking like an idiot/crazy guy). You feel more into the game because you are actually there in my opinion.
its the more enjoyable experience. Going to Camden yard (win or lose) is just always so much fun. Same with Caps games.
Wow you sound like a fare weathered fan but i guess that isnt surprising coming from a redskins fan.
i agree with him in a sense...
I don't see how he's a fair-weather fan at all...
Okay here it goes.
1) There is absolutely no indication that he is a fair weathered fan from ANYTHING he said in his blog. The only thing he seems to be fair weathered about is the prices of stadium food. Quite frankly, I 100% agree. I do understand the stadium wants to make SOME money, but honestly, 400% profit should be enough. What beer costs 9 bucks?
2) There is something to be said about going to a game. There seems to be this magical aura. Your symbiotic connection to the fan in front of you, sharing "ooh"s and "ahh"s. That is NOT replaceable at home. It can NEVER be replicated.
3) If you really are devoted to your team, you will do everything possible to see them as many times as you can. Its like with music. You can buy a CD and listen to it til you wear holes into it, but until you decide to go to the show/ concert and support them, its not the same.
In closing, you do have a point, but going to games is a truly unique experience, and we have places so close, such as Camden Yards, that theres no excuse to not see a handful of games there, even if to root for the other team, because going to historic ball parks, or even just amazing ones, is something special.
I go to loads of games every year but i think the nats games where always cheaper and as much fun but now with this new stadium and more expensive food than the skins i think the nats have lost some of the quality they used to have
