Comments: Each team came onto the floor with the necessary determination to win the championship, but only one team came out in search of revenge, the KIMA Hawks. Having lost to DeMatha a few games earlier, the Hawks had something they wanted to prove. They almost did.
With the halftime score at 27-25 (DeMatha), everyone in the gym was prepared for the second half of this game to be a good one. The two teams battled throughout the entire second half, but everyone began to sit on the edge of their seats around the three minute mark of the game. The score was tied at 45 and remained tied until KIMA's Devin Martin made a big shot, which gave the Hawks a 47-45 lead. The next play over, Kareem Storey was fouled and went 2 for 2 from the free throw line, making the score, 49-45.
Things were looking pretty good for the Hawks, but it wouldn’t last. With the help of a layup by Quinn Cook and two free throws by Jerian Grant, the Stags forced overtime, which is when the Stags shined. DeMatha scored first in OT and never looked back. Led once again by the efforts of Jerian Grant and Cook, the Stags added yet another championship title to their belts.
