In the first girls Capital Classic game, held at St. John's, the U.S. Future Stars defeated the Capital All Stars by a score of 115-80.
The U.S. Future Stars team was made up of underclass players while the Capital All Stars team consisted of players who are in their senior years of high school.
Leading the way for the Capital All Stars was team MVP Nia Clouden from St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, with 15 pts; joining Clouden in double figures was Taleah Washington [RCCA] with 13 pointds, Brie Perpignon [O'Connell] and Ashia McCalla [E. Roosevelt] with 11 a piece and Clara Ford [Marshall] with 10.
The Future Stars were led by team MVP Angel Reese [St. Frances Academy], who poured in 22 points and grabbed 19 rebounds; joining Reese in double figures in points was Jakia Brown Turner [McNamara] with a team high 24, Azzi Fudd [St. John's] with 22, Malu Tshitenge-Mutumbo [St. John's] with 20 points and 13 rebounds, while Paige Bueckers [Hopkins HS, Minnetonka, MN] had 11.
